Domsjo Installed.
A quick update…
Right after the test fit, one of the flange pieces on the Domsjo broke. I got that sink at the “as-is” section of IKEA for $50, so I wasn’t too broken up about it.
Here’s the down side… IKEA ran out of the Domsjo double bowl, and couldn’t get any more due to a manufacturing issue, so they’ve been out of stock for over a month. They finally got more in the store this week, so I picked up a new one and popped it in.
I’ve got the guys from Meier Plumbing coming over on Tuesday to hook up the faucet, dishwasher, and fridge. Very exciting!
After the sink is hooked up, all I need to do is connect the wiring up for the oven and cook top, and the kitchen is functional. Then there’s just a few cosmetic things that I need to take care of, including a back splash.
Pics to come later… Almost done!!!
Glad to hear the kitchen is almost finished.
Miles-
The kitchen is looking great. You don’t know me, but we are on eerily parallel tracks trying to get a Domsjo sink installed. I found your posts on the Ikeafans site, which led me here.
I am trying to instruct a counter-top fabricator in one one location on how to make my tops for a Domsjo sink, which along with the installation instructions is in a second location while I am in a third location. I am wondering if you can help me out with some dimensions.
Based on your posts and pictures, it looks like the dimension from the back of the sink’s front apron notch to the back of the sink is 24-1/8 (using your numbers 25-5/8 minus 1-1/2) and that the apron lip is 4/5″ wide. Did you find these numbers to be correct for fabricating your tops and installing the sink?
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
